CEO – FGM Consultants
Michael started in the meat industry in 1978 and has been involved in all aspects of the industry for the past 36years. Michael is the Director of FGM Consultants and is also one of the Principles of Food Safety Operations who deliver Nationally Accredited Training to the Australian Food, Meat & Hospitality Industries and Eville & Jones Food Safety Operations the providers of third party meat inspection. Over the past 16 years they have trained in excess of 5500 people across many states within Australia.
Prior to commencing FGM Consultants in 1998, Michael worked for Aus-Meat and the Australian Meat & Livestock Corporation (AMLC) holding such positions as Quality Auditor as well as heading the AMLC office in Korea in 1990.
Michael holds many meat processing accreditations as well as being registered with Exemplar Global (previously the Quality Society of Australasia) as a Lead Food Safety Auditor in Livestock and Slaughtering / Boning Streams as well as Auditor Status in Quality Systems Certificate No. 12338 further he still provides Third Party Aus-Meat Auditing services to a large abattoir in Queensland.
Michael runs a small cattle property where he lives and sits on the Baw Baw Business Advisory Board, Boy’s from the Bush Board (Indigenous Australian Training & Advisory Role), Baw Baw Big Blokes President and has completed past roles on the Gippsland Area Consultative Committee and the Gippsland Food Processors Group.
Peter has over 30 years’ experience in the meat & food processing industry. Joining FGM Consultants in 2005 Peter has become a well know identity across the Australian Meat Industry. Having learned his trade working on the line at Export abattoirs in both Slaughtering and Boning Sections he further enhanced his career by attended night classes to complete his meat inspection certificate with William Angliss TAFE while still holding down a full time day position. Prior to joining FGM Consultants Peter held positions including Quality Assurance Manager at a Large Export Abattoir, Meat Inspection and QA related functions within the Dairy Industry. Core interests in all aspects of the livestock industry and is FGM’s lead trainer in Animal Welfare.
Paul joined FGM Consultants in 2014 following a successful career in the food industry holding such positions as CEO of Freshmark Ltd, the commercial arm of Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Marketing Board as well has his own EU /BRC Food Manufacturing Business. During this time he was the winner of the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology – Innovation Award as well as the Monash University / Rabobank – Australian Institute of Agricultural Science – Innovation Award. He was also awarded the “Certificate of Merit” from the AIFST. Paul leads the Certificate IV program within FGM where he brings significant strength to the innovation development of staff at this level.
